MEETING REPORTS

January 2026 Meeting

We held the meeting via the Google Meet remote platform.  Over 60 members attended and got to hear the first of 2 official reviews of the updated B18 Constitution & Bylaws.  The last updates were 10 years ago. The Constitution Committee goals were to modernize language, move all financial components to a separate policy document, add clarity around contract ratification voting, and review officer roles and responsibilities.  The meeting ran long so we added an extra half hour to the in person April 2026 meeting.  The 2nd C&B review will happen followed by a vote of the members.

October 2025 Meeting

Good News - B18 is in the GREEN! Largest turnout yet at the last quarterly meeting of 2025.  2025 Union cards were provided to all members in good standing who RSVPd for the meeting.  If you would like your fully stamped 2025 union card, please send a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope to 450 Harrison Street #208, SF CA 94105, and the Membership Office will mail it out to you.  Or you can wait for the 2026 cards which will be out at the end of the year and distributed via your shop stewards. The Shredding project was completed as well as the prior website was recovered.  All good news!  The ACT contract vote was also counted and ratified prior to the meeting.  19 Yes, 2 No, 1 Abstain.  The Giants negotiations continue.  Great meeting - thanks all who attended!

July 2025 Meeting

We tested the Google Meet remote platform for the July meeting since it is usually cancelled for the summer. (Google Meet is no added cost to B18).  40 members attended and got an update on the latest B18 news which included an update on the Financials.  We have also welcomed 106 (!!) new members in 2025.  Some of them present at our meeting.  Great energy and great answers to the question "What is one thing you would like to see B18 start doing to enhance the value of your membership".  Next meeting TBD once Warriors scheduled is out mid-August.  This is because the regular Monday date falls on a holiday (October 13th).  Stay tuned.​

April 2025 Meeting

We had a full house at the April meeting where we got an update on the B18 Financials, and the progress we are making in paying down the $$ owed to the International.  We have also welcomed 48 new members in 2025.  Many of them present at our meeting.  We also had a 26 year B18 member attend her first meeting!  Great updates and great conversations.  Hope to 'see' you online for the next update July 14th and then again in person October 13, 2025.

January 2025 Meeting

Elected officers were sworn in and a general meeting was conducted.  All Members in Good Standing are invited to the next meeting on April 14, 2025 at 6:30pm.

October 2024 Meeting

Candidates were nominated for B18 Officers. Election day set for November 18, 2024, by unanimous vote.

May 2024 Meeting

By unanimous vote, the July 2024 general meeting was suspended.

January 2024 Meeting

The first quarterly meeting of 2024 was on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Due to lack of a quorum no business was conducted.

​October 2023 Meeting

The fourth quarterly meeting of 2023 was on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Due to lack of a quorum no business was conducted.

As approved at the April meeting, the July 2023 general meeting was suspended.

April 2023 Meeting

The second quarterly meeting of 2023 was on Monday, April 17.

• As noticed in late March, changes to B18's membership fees were ratified as follows:

  • a raise in the wage assessment to 2%

  • a $400 cap

  • elimination of annual dues payable by the end of January

The vote on whether to ratify the Executive Board's proposal was: 34 yes, 10 no, and 2 abstentions.
The change was approved, information on implementation will follow.

• B18's constitution and bylaws allow for cancelling the July general meeting. Members present in April voted unanimously to approve this, unless there is important business to discuss. A decision will be made in late June. If held, the meeting is scheduled for July 10, at 6:30pm.
